Description: The removal and disposal of asbestos and asbestos free thermal insulation from the turbine hall, boiler houses and inner and out blower houses.
This work removes the major part of asbestos containing materials. The early controlled removal of this hazard reduced the risk of accidental release prior de-planting works.
Strict radiological controls apply to the work and waste arising is monitored prior to disposal. Radiologically contaminated waste has been super-compacted prior to deep storage.
