| Asbestos Services
Asbestos is the common name for a variety of silicate materials that are fibrous in structure. It has two forms: serpentine and amphibole and is made of impure magnesium silicate. Chrysolite, commonly referred to as White Asbestos, is serpentine and amosite (brown) and crocidolite (blue) are amphibole.
Figures issued by the Health and Safety Executive revealed that every week 20 tradesmen die from asbestos-related diseases, and this number is set to increase.
The risk from asbestos must be managed effectively to ensure that such misery and suffering do not occur in the future. 1,000 (25%) of the 4,000 now dying each year are tradesmen and while the number of deaths in traditional industries has plateaued, deaths in trades continue to rise.
Working under licence, contracts are undertaken in both occupied and vacant premises, facilities and infrastructure in compliance with current regulations, underpinned by detailed method statements developed to deliver practical safe solutions according to the working environment.
